FROM
THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE
AT THE ART CAR BOOT FAIR 2006
An Ashton & Hayward Production
SUNDAY JUNE 4 FROM MID-DAY TO 6PM
AT THE OLD TRUMAN BREWERY, 150 BRICK LANE, E1
Showroom Dummies will again be participating in The Art Car Boot
Fair held at the Truman Brewery on Sunday the 4th of June. This
is the second time the event has been held and that we have attended.
This year’s event is billed to be
"another classic day of art and frivolity”.
In the 2004 Art Car Boot event the Showroom Dummies took
the opportunity to produce and sell the first samples of our now
classic Fly, Dog and Bug T- shirts (a comprehensive range of which
can now be purchased here on this website shop).
We also produced a special limited edition wool car blanket depicting
road signs for the occasion..
This year we have excelled ourselves! We have transformed and lovingly
customised a caravan from which you can purchase a brand new range
of silk scarves as well as items from our other collections such
as the Bone Idle postcards, crockery, badges and blankets.
There
are nine new scarf designs such as “ Hat Trick” (bunny
and hat), “ Star Wars” (planet earth and missiles),
"Pieces of Eight” (parrot and eggs) and the signature
design for the project and series, “ From the Cradle to the
Grave” (a beautiful baby lovingly watched over by her parent
skulls!) You can check out the designs here by clicking on the ‘products’
bunny icon.
The
caravan has been a collaboration using “ From the Cradle to
the Grave” designs produced by Abigail Lane especially for
the Showroom Dummy scarves, and the skilful aerosol painting of
graffiti artist BUSK.
The interior is a collage of Showroom Dummy paraphernalia and designs.
Come and get some postcards or get your self tattooed for under
a fiver… or splash out on a limited edition silk scarf for
just £35.
Also
don’t miss a special visit between 3pm and 4pm from our favourite
magician SAV, who will be sure to amaze you with
a flourish from within the folds of our scarves!
This
year’s art car boot fair will be “the most fun you’ll
have out of the back of a car since filthy adolescence”- so
they say! So come and find us amongst the other 45 exciting pitches.
Please

by the excellent Swedish Blonde, where you will get more detailed
information about the event as a whole and the other contributors.
As
always we have had the help and support of our loving extended family.
This time it is a special thanks to
Terry Nixon, Paul Lawrence, and Jeff Bremner.
See
you there!
